Valley Health Interventional Spine

Advanced approach to treating neck and back pain

Valley Health Interventional Spine provides a non-surgical, evidence-based approach to accurately diagnosing and treating painful spine conditions using image-guided, minimally invasive procedures. Our treatments benefit patients who may not have positively responded to conservative management. With a concentrated focus on spine care, our team of clinicians create customized plans of care using an array of diagnostic injections and image-guided procedures.

Our program also offers additional procedures including spinal cord stimulator trials and electrodiagnostic evaluation of the upper and lower limbs. Image-guided diagnostic procedures can provide additional information to better target and treat painful spine conditions.

Backpain: A Common but Treatable Problem

Low back pain has been estimated to affect 15-20% of adults in any given year and 80% over the course of their lifetime. For the vast majority of patients, a source of spine pain can be identified. Our team is committed to providing a compassionate and comprehensive approach to accurately diagnosing and treating the source of painful spine conditions. Physical exam and diagnostic imaging findings alone may not be sufficient to determine the specific source of neck, back or radicular pain.

Commonly performed image-guided procedures for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar/sacral conditions:

  • Transforaminal epidural steroid injections
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic selective nerve root blocks
  • Medial branch blocks
  • Medial branch neurotomy (radiofrequency ablation)
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic intra-articular sacroiliac joint and hip joint injections
